" Every now and then a fly rod series comes along that stands the test of time. When South Pacific released their SX fly rod series some years back there was an air of confidence that they had produced something special. The overwhelming rod sales that followed gave the stamp of approval to the company’s ongoing commitment to produce high performance world-class equipment.

Now the SX has been taken to a new level, with the release of the high-end SX2.

The SX2 features a stack of upgrades, including AAAA Portuguese Cork grips with EVA composite ends, black anodised aluminium double up-lock reel seats, and flared EVA/Cork butts on the heavier wt rods. The stripping guides, snake guides and over-size tips are all finished in non-flash black to match the satin black blanks.

The fast progressive casting action remains as smooth as ever with plenty of reserve power when needed to deliver long casts across open water or sand flats, while also able to present flies gently and accurately at short distances in tight trout streams and bass creeks.

South Pacific were the first Australian company to build with Pacific Bay International USA componentry. The SX2 rods feature the exclusive PacBay Minima4® stripping guides. Specifically designed for fly rods, the Minima4® guides utilise stamped guide inserts, maximising inner guide diameters. This equates to minimal resistance when shooting line, and hence longer casting distances.

The 4 piece rods in the SX2 range are 9 feet long and available in 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 wts. ABS capped rod tubes are available.

South Pacific SX2 Original Owner Lifetime No-Fault Warranty: for the original registered owner, ‘If you break it, We’ll replace it, No questions asked’. In the event of any first-time rod breakage, replacement of the broken SX2 fly rod section is simple and only requires a supporting photo clearly showing the damage. The warranty processing fee is $50 inc GST which includes delivery to your nominated address. Simply phone the warranty department on 0412 271 365 to begin the warranty process. (Note: if you have purchased your SX2 rod from a dealer outside of Australia, you will need to deal directly with the retailer where the SX2 rod was purchased). Note: This warranty outlined, is ONLY applicable to the SX2 series fly rods. Rod sections for any additional rod breakages, or extra sections required for travel, are available for purchase.
