Del Brown’s "Merkin" fly has accounted for more Crab fly caught fish than any other pattern. It is an old standby fly that's been around for years. You can't beat this pattern for sight casting to permit. A Merkin does a great job of imitating crabs and Permit love crabs. The motion triggers the fish to eat and this pattern seems to creates the illusion of scuttling legs A "must have" pattern for Permit, Bonefish and Blue Grouper.
